Auto Theft Prevention Tips

  • Never leave a vehicle unattended when it is unlocked or running, even if you only plan on being gone “a minute.”
  • Never leave keys in the vehicle or in the ignition.
  • Always roll up your windows and lock your vehicle, even if parked in front of your home.
  • Never leave valuables in plain sight; take with you or lock in your trunk.
  • Always park in well-lit areas.
  • Always use your emergency brake when parked; also turn the wheel toward the curb, which makes towing harder for the theives who use tow trucks to steal vehicles.
  • Don’t think old vehicles are safe; parts from vehicles are in demand.
